High caffeine energy bars

Sat 06 Jun, 2020 2:50 pm

Hey guys,

It's not intended for a hike itself but rather something I can eat after I finish a day walk and before jumping in my car and driving back home. I usually finish late, right before sunset, and a couple of times I nearly fell asleep on the wheel. I am always worried about this so eating one of those bars is probably like drinking a good cappuccino plus having some food intake after a gruelling day hiking.

Care to recommend me something I can buy in the supermarket. Cyclists are probably very familiar with what I'm after but I'm no cyclist so clueless when it comes to performance snacks.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Not an energy bar but chocolate-covered coffee beans work well!

Get back to your car earlier-nearly falling asleep? Pull over and sleep.
I'd suggest you recondsider the chemicals.

Agree with Lamont, dont drive tired, you dont even know the plan will work at all... coffee makes you jumpy it doesnt necessarily focus you for driving.. then you end up even more tired when it wears off...

Thats an excellent question gbagua and something I can relate to. But: caffein is toxic, thats a fact, and even sub-fatal doses can impair you in various ways, I wouldn't take the stuff when you could end up in a dangerous situation eg underneath an eighteen-wheeler on the M1. Just saying.

Kopikio Coffee Candy would work for a Caffeine hit. Not just when you return to the car but on the track as well.

It looks good but I prefer to buy this stuff in the supermarket. Found this by accident:

Coles sells them.

I will settle for this energy bar.
