TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Denali Cirrus 2 Tent?

Postby 40725359 » Sat 28 Jan, 2012 4:17 pm

Hi there,

I'm wondering if anyone's had experience with the old Denali Cirrus line of tents? I'm looking for a 3-season tent for the husband and myself to use on 2-3 night treks. Saw a two-man one on ebay but I know nothing about them.

Comments on useability/quality?

Thanks.

I've not used a Denali tent but have looked at several in Anaconda. They look OK, definitely not top quality but should last a while with moderate use. They are clearly not 4 season tents (most have mesh inners - cold at night, not sure about the cirrus) and are a bit on the heavy side (2.3kg for a small 2 man tent - you probably won't have room for two of you and gear in the tent). IMO there are much better tents for the price new, but if you get a good price 2nd hand on ebay then the tent should be OK in most situations. BTW, from memory the price new for 2 man Denali tents in Anaconda when on sale (is there any other way to buy there?) is about $100 to $150, IMO they are not worth the $250 to $300 retail.

Thanks for the fast response. Cost is a bit of a factor, but so is space... Your response was pretty on the money about that.
