Hi Jude, I realize you are very new to the forum. I have moved your topic to this equipment forum. If you search through the posts you will find a number that deal with single person tents. Click that link to see my search or try your own. The search box is up in the top right corner. Good luck!

A few points that will help are :
What do you consider lightweight?
What is your size ?
Do you use a thin (1-2.5 cm)or thick (7-9cm) mat ?
Do you like a lot of space around you or not?
Are you familiar with setting up tents?
Where and when will you hike ? (snow, wind, heavy rain, exposed areas or "3 season" sheltered areas...)
Are you allergic to any brand or country of origin?
Do you need/prefer a separate vestibule?
Is one wall OK or do you like two walls?
(that should start you off)
BTW, I will not comment unless you just need figures rather than a "recommendation".

i'm 58kg an i have a 2 man nz olympus macpac tent which i've had forever and is a great tent for bad weather, an usually share the load with someone else but will be on my own this time so will purchase a single tent.
i have an exped down mat 7, yet to trial, have previously always used a self inflating mat.
i plan to do overland track jan or feb 2012

If you're interested, I may have a Hilleberg Akto for sale. As new condition, only been pitched fourteen nights.
