Nallo 2 or 3 ?

With the climb in the Aussie $ the Nallo is starting to look affordable. I am inclined to go with the 2 but then the 3 is only about $50 extra and adds only about 300g to the weight. Most of my walking is done solo these days so I suppose the 2 is really all I need. But if ever I had a bit of company the extra space in the 3 could come in handy. what do people think is the extra space worth the weight?

Also what do people think about the footprint? It would be an advantage to have the vestibule covered but it seems heavy?

And one last thing. Do you pack the inner away separately or do you keep it attached to the fly?

I use the Nallo2 with my wife and we cope fine. Rather than the footprint, I take a piece of Tyvek. Works great as it covers up some of the ground in the vestibule as well, and it's cheap.
My thoughts.

Yeah, only 200g, but there is some variation. Ours was on the high side of what they say to expect. Still a pretty light 4-season tent.

We went with the Nallo 3 because of the extra side room and it's a little taller, but we're two people. The Nallo 3 does have kind of a large footprint. But it's a very nice tent overall and we're pretty happy with it.

We just use a small plastic sheet for the vestibule in the bush and a larger one for the whole enchilada if camping near the car. So far (something like 50 nights, most without a groundsheet) not a hint of damage to the floor.

We always pack it away together but be aware that when there is condensation the inner tent and floor will get wet from this when you pack them together. Be prepared to sponge or towel the floor when you set it up that night.

You could go halfway and get the Nallo 2 GT - standard 2 man inner with extra large vestibule.

Hiya Kanangra, I have a Nallo3 and bought it (second hand here on the forum) specifically to give me options. Also have a Minaret(2 person) . Family of 2adults and 2 children and various combinations of some of our family not coming but others inviting friends. It also weighs less than the Minaret so will be my solo tent until I save up my Birthday money to buy a Bivvy  Tried the Nallo 3 at home on the w/end with my 2 boys (small 8 & 10) - heaps of room. Will be a palace also when I farm the kids out and get Mum alone
In short - if you think the 3 could be handy I would get it and carry the weight (until you get a Bivvy and tarp purely for yourself)
