I'm a great fan of thermal pants, but have also recently found that wearing Skins helps greatly with fatigue in my old legs.

I just read about these thermals/compression tights that are used a lot by skiers and snowboarders. Has anyone had any experience of them for walking?

have had clients wearing them and have gotten feedback re their benefits

apparently the 2xu tights provide cpompression in multiple directions and have diferent gradients of compression

apparently they are superior to skins which provide reduced compression and only uni directional and therefore reduced vascualr return (ie let more blood pool into the tissues from the arteries and veins and return less back to your heart)

the tights compressive function is limited by time and use and people feel they get a better run out of the 2xu tights (18 months to 2 years) - i guess this depends on use

i read a bit of science behind them a while ago and apparently they have been significantly researched since - i am told by colleagues that the research is good and that they are found to be effective in reducing delayed onset muscle soreness and improving vascualr return - ie they work - anyway their proposed mechanism makes sense physiologically if you wear the long tights because a lot of pooling happens in the distal extremities - wearing shorts might not be so useful but this could be argued to be effective locally only in the quads and hamstrings

you can order them based on your weight and height but i have heard that this is occasionally slightly incorrect

most wear them during activity and some wear a garment of lesser compression for recovery (some even wearing them to bed after some serious work (200k on the bike))

we are about to do some training on them at work so if i get any more info i will post on the thread
