Itty bitty kiddy harnesses

How easy are these to obtain? I have a mate that used to make harnesses and other climbing kit, but was thinking of a commercial unit before pestering him. Our little one is 4 and about 16kg, just over a metre tall. I'm planning a walking/riding trip to Girraween late April and want to take her up some of the walks (pyramids, bald rock) she's a real spider monkey and a great climber, getting to the stage we can take her on decent walks and need the safety line.

Most people using a safety line only use a tape for a harness. I guess for you kid you want something better? You shouldn't have any problem ordering one at somewhere like Paddy's or try your local climbing gym, they probably have a noticeboard you could ask for one?

I'm a total greenhorn on climbing gear. Was always interested in it but there are only so many hobbies you can get involved in before critical mass.

Might talk to my mate at the local Paddys.

'54 - there are a few different harnesses for kids, generally with a chest attachment also, as it's a bit more supportive, and they tent to be somewhat hip-less too. My Miss8 has one. For a 4yo it will be harder though, but you'll want an adjustable one so you can cinch the legs right down.
