TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.
FWIW: I have a Sea-to-Summit UL insulated mat (large size). I bought this $3.00 bag from Kmart to enclose the mat for the following reasons
Keeps my mat clean stops "squeaking noise" coming off tent floor When using my sleeping bag as a quilt/blanket, the $3 cover is better to sleep on than the mat itself
I did see these in the local last weekend and bought one. They are 100% synthetic, not cotton. But for $3, worth throwing into the gear stack.
K-Mart also had the collapsible (silicone) drink bottles for $5.50 which do screw onto the bottom of the MSR miniworks filter. Handy to have as part of your water treatment plan.
