TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Fenix torches in Australia

This is one of those rear occasion when Australians can buy locally at similar if not cheaper than US prices.
Because I was tired of waiting for Petras to finish the video on our US walks (http://www.yart.com.au/pa/page.aspx?ID=131) I got bored so I thought I needed a new light. I have heard a lot of good comments about the Fenix LD20 so after a quick Google search I ordered one from an American site. The next day they told me they could not ship to Australia , cancelled my order and refunded my money.
Another search revealed an Aussie site. This one http://www.ledtorches.com.au/index.php? ... t&catId=10
Low and behold they have the LD20 for $75 AU (about $65 US) inc shipping.
They were closed last week, shipped on Monday and I received it today (Wed)
Can't tell you much about it except that it feels very well built with good ergonomics, certainly a lot brighter on full power than my Princenton Tec Eos.
If you have half an hour to kill and are interested in torches, have a look at this :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arwWjpZSCmc

* The Petras video link is shameless self promotion but it is rather funny...
