Any suggestions very welcome.
Had a look at this, but seems quite heavy and Made in China.

Needs - 2 Person, 3-4 season. Not too worried about weight(within reason).
Budget: $300-400. A lot of tents seem to be well over 400-500 and that's stretching me a bit. :(

Many Thanks

Buy it now is $450, so an auction should go for a fair bit less...I don't have personal experience with this model however.

Personally, i would go for a s/h macpac or wilderness equipment tent (in good condition). They have proven designs, good manufacturer support...

More ionfo here: (this is a decent shop in Melb)

Salewa Denali2, Micra (i've used Salewas in the past - excellent tents) , Mountain Hardware has one.

The Hubba Hubba wouldn't really be considered 3-4 season with the mesh inner, would it? The Hubba Hubba HP is more solid, but also more $$$

Second-hand is probably a pretty good option if you want to keep the price under $400...

Can you wait a few (3-4) weeks?
Macpac apollo? 70D fabric so 3.1kg I'll let you in on a secret...they'll be on sale for $349 in a few weeks...
or stretch the $ a bit and go for the new Macpac Macrolite (with 30Dsi/si fabric it is 2.0kg) and at an intro price of $454...(I'll post pics soon..sorry)
two more options to consider if you are keen on buying new with warranty ..

Thanks loric, IfI looked for a month, probably wouldn't have found that guide
Singe, thanks for response, if I have to spend extra, probably will. Was hoping for a special :?
Brett, thanks for the concise advice  Will bear it mind.

Any other info most welcome, don't want to rush into this purchase.

I'll sell you my Coleman Exponent Phad 3 tent for $170 + shipping. It's a solid three season tent- I have had two different outfitters on the NW of Tassie tell me it's fine for three seasons on the Overland Track, including one that is extremely reputable. I have a friend who has used a variant of this tent on 5 OT hikes, including once in the winer, and loves it. It weighs 3.8 kg, has a great extended vestibule, and will easily fit three people, but not 6 footers like myself. Also, this tent only has a little bit of mesh at the top, and a fully-mesh door with a zip-off liner, so it's great for the cold.

It has been pitched twice, for a total of around 2 hours.

It has an internal tunnel design, which makes it super easy to pitch. Aluminum poles, extra-hard and light stakes, the whole nine yards. It is one nice tent.

I just don't fit in it! :-(

PM me if you want, or would like more info.

Cheers
