New Tarptent Web Site

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

New Tarptent Web Site

Postby Franco » Sat 12 Mar, 2011 8:09 am

Finally Henry has loaded the new web site :
http://www.tarptent.com/
There are several new pictures in the Gallery section, may give some ideas of where the TT are used.
There are now 3D views and set up videos for each shelter.
Please note that the Sublite Sil will not be back in production till 2012

New website looks great.

Why has the sublite sil stopped production this year?

hi
Mostly to catch up with the demand on other shelters.
The Sublite is very labour intensive to produce.

Thanks Corvus
Henry has been working on that new site for a few weeks . He finished (sort of) this morning at 2 AM, his time.
I have been checking/testing the progress , but not focusing that much on those details, just on how the pages are connected, loading speed and the like.
So far forum members have already found 4 mistakes , the one you mention is another one.
That description belongs to the Squall 2.
So thanks for that. I would be surprised if more are not found...
The next bit will be to add a few more video clips and maybe change the codec/player because it is still a bit slow to load .

Thanks again for the comments.
please let me know if you find any more mistakes.
Having had power cuts, heavy snow falls, building the new office/warehouse and then the website has left Henry no time to design new shelters, and that is not such a bad thing..

Franco, the Moment specifications are inconsistent. On one page the weight and height are 28.5 ounces and 40 inches while on another page they are 30 ounces and 39 inches.

Which of these is closer, on average, to reality?

Good observation and good question..
I passed that on to Henry.
I just set my Moment up and measured 103cm in height , that is just over 40'.
As for the weight , about 850 g (30oz) sounds about right, but I will get an average from the next batch due in today..
(hopefully because I have several orders to send out)
keep hunting for mistakes..
Franco
My own Moment , (heavily seam sealed as I do all the stichings inside and out) with two guylines and zip pull installed and six pegs ( yes I take spares) it is a bit under 1 kg.
