Possible gear strap cheap

Might work, I didn't have any spare cash but next payday I might go back and buy a pack and see how well they work for stashing crampons etc onto the daypack

Take a look at bicycle toe straps. $7-10 and stupid strong. I have about 20 sets floating around for strapping things onto the car or bike or bags.
