Cot leg floor savers?

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Cot leg floor savers?

Anybody here ever seen something like this for sale in Oz?

http://www.cabelas.com/product/camping/ ... QAWidgetID

I thought they might help stop the cot from sinking into the snow so quickly as well as protecting the fragile floor fabric

Drill holes in a few tennis balls and poke the cot legs into them

Always used jar lids myself Ted but haven't camped in the snow. Only good thing about snow is that it melts and ends in up in rivers where trout live

Tennis balls came to mind to me too, not sure where from , maybe I have seen some using them in a similar fashion.

Cheap, light plastic bowls? You can the eat from them as well. Normally just luxuriate on a exped down mat, but I understand where you're coming from when I think about using my Helinox chair on soft ground. Afterthought, as you're essentially car camping with a twist - PVC pipe, with holes cut out....or cups/bowls etc.

Best suggestion here is the plastic bowls. Head to IKEA.

I just had a picture flashed in my mind of where the tennis ball idea came from , having seen them over the ball of a tow bar.

Yes I still do that, stops the grease from staining my pants and the grease stops the ball from rusting.
I like the PVC tube idea, thanx.

I rigged a huge tarp over an HG ute once and used a tennis ball on a broom handle as a centre pole resting on the tailgate.
PVC end caps or T joiners come in a variety of sizes, you might find some of those flattish egg cups/plates with a moulded centre that could help locate the legs.
