TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

so yeah, I'm Cam from Macpac

So... Fairydown bought Hallmark 15 or so years ago then shipped the manufacture of the Hallmark Snowcave overseas (plenty of posts and pics of that tent on this forum).
If Mountain Noir were to re-introduce the Hallmark Snowcave, I seriously reckon they could be on to something.
Problem is of course, it would be competing against the Olympus.
But the Snowcave was so good for so many reasons, not least of which was the two vestubles.
The Hilleberg Katium is like 4.2 metres long so that's just silly, but it wins hands down in the weight department against the snowcave.
The Nallo2 that I have now is barely over 2 kilo's. The Snowcave was 4.2 kg loaded.
If the Snowcave was lighter weight and incorporated a few cool features of the Hilleberg Nallo2, now that WOULD be a tent to go for.
Things like lighter weight, and the easy way the sleeves are designed to slide the poles through.
Just a thought. Happy to elaborate with you and share ideas if it's something they'd consider.
Owning a Hallmark Snowcave makes buying a new tent very very difficult.

Hi Adam, it seems that FD kept none of the Hallmark IP- we have no design files or keep samples of Hallmark products sadly..
Good design is a kind of alchemy.

I hearby invite Mountain Noir / Macpac or any other company to contact me if they are serious about designing a two person tunnel tent based on the old Snowcave. I have the help of Corvus who is willing to get together with me. I can do a photo shoot of the tent and its features, and I will happily elaborate on its features and what I think needs improving.

I may even gather this detail and reply in this topic, thus answering Brett's request.

Experiences from other Hallmark Snowcave users - please feel free to drop in and provide your opinions on this tent.
Cheers!
