Review - Tarptent Sub-lite Sil 2010

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Hopefully the Notch addresses some of the problems with the Sublite. I found I could give the latter a solid shake while it was pitched and the poles would fall out and collapse, particularly with the supplied poles. That combined with the single skin design made it far from suitable for foul weather.

I'm keen to see a review on this solo tent (with fabric inner especially). :D

The Sublite seems to be still for sale, I wish the notch was as light as the sublite, I wanting the sublite now I might get a Zpacks tent instead, will have to wait 30 days though, oh well.

Cheers.

The tent discussed here is the Sublite Sil(nylon) , this is discontinued.
The one available is the original Sublite made with soft Tyvek (white material)
The Tyvek version is designed for hot humid areas where breathability is more important than waterproofness.
It can take a light shower but not heavy rain nor high winds.
In other words it isn't a tent for someone that wants a do it all tool.
