Dangerbird hammock

Very excited. Today I received my custom dangerbird hammock. It weighs 730g rigged and has both a mesh top and a solid momentum top for bad weather/cold temps. The design and build is amazing, not a stitch out of place and the zips run with ease. Just amazing. Coyote body with green peak hoods and momentum top. Its a double layer 1.1oz. There are side pull outs running on a shock cord system and there are built in loops for your underquilt suspension. As I said...amazing. Its just perfection. And very very comfy.

How good is the top do you think? what kinda overlap to stop wind blowin rain up inside?

The solid top (and the mesh top) enclose completely (ie no bugs/rain could get in). Mind you the solid momentum top is only weather resistant not waterproof so obviously you need your tarp deployed.

I apologise the photo I took from a distance with the solid top deployed didn't actually take (stoopid phone).

Both top covers live at opposite ends of the hammock in their own little peak bags made out of their respective material. These bags are attached to the structural ridgeline. To deploy simply pull it out of its bag and zip both zips (one running on each side). To prevent and creepy crawlies where the zips close right at the ends under the peak hood there is velcro there to make the seal complete. How he sews all this truly amazes me

Ha. Yes. I should have mentioned that. Lawn grub had eaten some chunks of the lawn so the owners had new turf installed today (we've only just moved in). The lush green stuff is the normal lawn which I much prefer. They're two different types of grass which I found a little strange to be installing. Oh well not my problem

Thought I'd dig up this thread because I'm thinking of adding a second hammock to the collection so my girlfriend can hang too (and so I can try out something else ). I've got a blackbird now and the dangerbird has come up in my searching as an option. So I was wondering how it's going Mic? There aren't many details on their website. The dimensions look very generous which I think would be good for me 185cm. Would you get the solid top option again?

LOVE IT! I wouldn't change a thing about it. I think Randy has changed the fabric now (mines ripstop nylon body with momentum top cover). Your both more than welcome to check it out as from memory we don't live too far apart.
I really like the solid cover option. In cold/foul weather it just can't be beat. It really helps keep you toasty. As for the hammock it incredibly well made. I won't be changing it for anything else for a long time. Feel free to ask any specifics or you can check it out/or if you fancy a hike I could bring it along and your Mrs can have a laze in it on the trail

And my husbands the exact same height (185cm) and is perfectly comfy in it so it is fine for you...mind you he also makes a really wide one now if you wish to sprawl.
