I actually own both!
I've got the Outer Limits Vertex tent and I'm pretty happy with it. I am yet to take it anywhere serious but its been in pretty good rain and faired well. In the bit of wind it has been subject to it seemed solid as a rock, without any guys. It has attachment points for 8 but only came with 4 - I really think it would be able to take a beating with the lot. All seems quite good quality really and I have no issues. It's not the lightest tent - but not too bad considering it's quite a spacious 2 man. The only stupid thing with it is that some of the velcro loops you fix the fly to the poles with are actually where the poles are in sleeves. So I have cut little holes in the pole sleeves to loop the velcro through. No - big deal but a bit dodgey! Note: They did make two different types of vertex tents (one had a really short third pole that basically did nothing). Overall I'm impressed with the value for money more than anything.
As for the sleeping bag mine is about 7 years (or so) old and has had a moderate amount of use. Always been very warm in it and once again no problems - still going strong and I generally use it for car camping in cold places these days. It's a synthetic one so I recently replaced it to cut down on size and weight when hiking.
