TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Whilst on the OT last week I was told that there is a seasonal second-hand backpackers equipment store in Hobart. Apparently it's somewhere near Mountain Designs in Hobart. I was in the Hobart CBD yesterday afternoon but couldn't locate the store.
I'd like to take a look to see if it's useful for my nephew to check out for acquiring some more equipment at low cost.
I was told that being a seasonal store, the shop is not always at the same location each summer.

Yep it's the old MacPac shop. I went there today to sell some hiking gear. It's a seasonal shop and the owner said she will be there until March. Worth checking out, they have hiking gear and other recreational equipment. I think I saw some wetsuits.
You can bring old hiking gear and sell on commission.

Just rebirthing this old thread. I've noticed this place is closed. Has it moved to somewhere else in Hobart or does it operate later on in the season?
thanks
