TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Bib and brace for ski-touring and Mountaineering

Mon 30 Aug, 2010 11:48 am

My sallopettes just died. I have sent them in to Remote equipment repairs and I just got a phone call saying that they would be replaced under the warranty BUT I have been unable to find any Bib&Brace in any store anywhere.

Remote have said that they would want me to obtain from a local store but who carries real gear anymore??
If you have a link to any Australian retailer of Mountain Sallopettes please let me know
I need XXL tall fitting
My originals were custom made by Wilderness Equipment and of course they no longer make clothes

Not for 7 years now, they have some pants with suspenders in the current range but even Patagonia seem to have stopped making them, they are available in military stores in USA, but not allowed to export apparently

Try Mont. I think they used to make some and I have had luck with them making gear to order as long as they still have the right fabrics.

Other than that, UK or US :)

I just exchanged emails with Ian Maley, he may be able to help with the pattern and then I can make my own, I have some really good quality Military grade GTex here; courtesy of EvilBait

I cannot recommend Ians customer service too highly, when I advised me of the problem and asked for help.
He has offered to supply me with the pattern to make a new pair, with updated sizing to accommodate my new and enlarged waist-line.

You know it's good when they stop making it!!
