Slippery pillow

I have a massdrop klymit pillow. It slides against the mat, my head, hood or beanie. Any ideas? Beads of silicon, glue on some fabric strips, if so what fabric, different approaches for either side, pillow slips (oxymoron intentional) help me

Slide a neck gaiter (buff in the US) over it. It does need to fit close and should stretch a bit to go over so it fits tightly.
Make one if you can. If you already carry one-they are a nice boost when it's cool/cold and good to keep the sun off your neck and lower face with a hat, use it for this.
This works a charm to keep my Big Sky pillow roughly in one place. I am guessing you have a quilt and as such you have just learned the big failing of quilts. No hood to hold the pillow in place. But this works well with my Nunatak quilt. The fabric grips quite well to my Xlite.
Surely BCF would carry them as I see anglers on TV wearing them all the time out in the sun all day.
Best of all weighs next to nothing and is multi purpose. I found mine in some bushes behind Anglesea. Bingo.

I have just started using a quilt and I'm planning on cutting down a cheap sleeping bag liner to line the sleeping mat, hold the pillow in place and route the quilt straps. Might even help stop drafts.

Make some seam sealer out of 100% silicone. The clear stuff. And add white spirits till runny. Brush it on neatly and it won't go anywhere.

Restless sleeper, use a sleeping bag but often open as a quilt. After 40 odd years of lots of walking just moved into the brave new world of inflatable katies from foam pads. Never take enough clothing to spare as a pillow. Beauty of packraft trips the pfd pillow and boat matress. Think I will go down huntsmans road, it's what I though first, silicon it all together. Those buff things always look to seppo/Brownback mountain to me, but hey if it works for you

I have a buff/neck warmer, in a ever so unfashionable black colour im afraid but it works well. I like the idea of using them to cover a pillow/stuff sack. Im currently using just the stuff sack which gets a bit dirty after a while. Be easier to wash a buff after each trip.

I thought a neck gaiter was the same thing. It's just a tube. Take it off your pillow on a cold morning straight onto your neck, beanie on over the top.
Goes over your neck down into your shirt and can be pulled up to the top of the head. Shade on the back of your neck when the sun is low and your hat won't cover. Weighs about 20 grams I think.

A buff is a canadian product very similar to a bandana except the back of the material is folded over to connect to the front.

Yep, that's what I have, just found the word "buff" on it.
A tube only 40cms X 25cms (36 grams, probably a fishing thingy-very breathable) long for that pillow.
Covers the pillow perfectly snugly. A pillow like home with a pillow case (packs tiny 8cms X 3cms -check the vid) for 76 grams.
I tried the klymit one -didn't do it for me, too low.

I also think the buff pillow could be quite good for use at hostels,YMCA etc on the first/final night of a long trip in a foreign destination.

Wow, the only buff things I,'ve seen are heavy and fluffy. Some silicone beads on the pillow and one of them could work really well for a couple of grams.

I stuck two small tabs of tenacious tape either end of my pillow and made a small hole through the tape.. I then use some thin shock cord tied to these tabs.. shock cord goes around mat and holds pillow in place

No worries, only problem if the gaiter gets dirty and sweaty, it wont be nice to lay on. I reckon this is okay for colder/cooler weather when the gaiter is largely clean-not much sweating and it serves the dual purpose- I had it on the other morning. But I won't wear the gaiter when it's warm. Hat and collar does it for me.
From an UL perspective carrying the gaiter just as a pillow case is a bit contentious, but that stupid ugly thing in the pic sticks to my xlite like you know what to blanket, so it's hard to pass up and that dopey pillow in my hand above weighs about 30 grams. It is a nice combo.

An extra 30g is no worries. Even times ten bits thats only 300g, it should only bother the uber-super-lighters

Just had a very comfy short mattress replaced under warranty but with a medium length one, thinking to pass it on as I only need a short one.

I take my shirt off and do up the buttons then slip it over the top of my mat (Thermarest Xlite) (buttons down) and then stuff my Sea to Summit pillow up inside. Works like a charm

The buff over the pillow works well. For me it is not an extra 38g but a useful multi-functional bit of clothing I use regularly as a head covering in high winds (saves my sun hat getting blown around) and around the throat in cold conditions.

Even went to to town like that. Just don't care/now more confident. From living on the road and getting outdoors more I can sometimes look quite eccentric with layer combinations!

For another solution, if the previous ones are not to your liking, get a small anti-slip mat from Target (or similar) . The type made for glasses.
It works for pillows and mats.
I have one under my keyboard right now...
(similar to the carpet type but much thinner and lighter)

There is even potential to stretch a buff or use some elastic to fix the pillow to your head..!
