TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Bear-Grylls-Parang-Recall

Gerber is voluntarily recalling our Parang machete, model numbers 31-000698, 31-001507, 31-000986, 31-001111, and 30-0006010, due to safety concerns. A weakness in the area where the handle meets the blade can cause the handle or the blade to break during use, posing a laceration hazard.

Why the recall ? I would have thought that a Bear Grylls product within an inbuilt potential for danger was part of the brand ?

What possible use would the average bushwalker have for an implement like this? But then I suppose the people who take Bear Grylls seriously are the type who would be concerned about a zombie attack.

A zombie attack is ridiculous. Machetes are used in the bush to behead wayward vampires.
