TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

What to spend $40 on at Anaconda?

Thu 19 Jul, 2012 5:47 pm

I have been given a $40 gift voucher for Anaconda but can't see anything that I either don't already have, need or can get cheaper elsewhere. Any ideas for the bushwalking side of things?

I turned 50 at Christmas, unfortunately my work mates gave me a $50 gift card from Anaconda, it took me 6 months to spend it, so I know how you feel. A few weeks ago they had 25% off Storewide, Sea to Summit products were a good buy with that discount.

Presents for other people???
You gain $40 worth of karma.
Just show something you already bought recently to the voucher giver as evidence of your use of their gift....
win win :-)

They are clearing some Merino lines.
Not great but for $40 you can get a Merino first layer bottom..
I went there for some gas today , if you use that well you can get 4x 250g canisters.
But if giving is your thing, just contact me and I will manage to spend that for you.

If you're a freeze dried eater then $40 worth of dinners? Wool socks? Beanie? A new knife not especially for walking or camping.

I seem to wander in that shop a bit and come out empty handed more often than not. I think the last thing I bought from there was one of those excellent tubey type container with the valve top. It is perfect for liquids. I take oil in mine and I have never had a leak. Not sure of the name. Something like toobs (sea to summit import them.) Yes just looked them up "go toob" by human gear.

I actually have a similar problem ($60 to spend), I am going to go down the gas & freeze dried food option - might even try the desert lines

Cheers

In Bushwalking gear? I'd get some fishing gear :)

They have Heatgear which is genuinely good for hot conditions - skintight is ugliest and best. Sea-to-summit pactap for water? Bit of a gimmick but good all the same. Food or fuel maybe?
