TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Edelrid Hexon multifuel stove

Hi

I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this stove, I don't think you can in buy it Australia atm. But it seem very similar to a MSR dragonfly in design and price, but it is able to use gas cannisters as well as a metal pump assembly and seems to be lighter

thanks matt

Interesting design.

Ive got an Edelrid rope which was grossly underquoted in weight by 20% so i'm not so sure if this stove's listed weight is true to its specs.

I found another link which might have a more accurate weight and it's got a few more pics

I'd be interested to find out how well you can control the heat output with this

Matt, I think that you will find the Hexon is similar to the Kovea Booster+. And, if you compare the Edelrid and Kovea stove catalogues, you will recognise the 'parentage'. Kovea make stoves for other companies and I suspect that is where Edelrid are getting 'their' stoves. (The pumps for the Hexon and Booster+ look identical.) Dual LPG / white gas (Shellite) capacity is common to quite a few Chinese and Korean stoves. Some of the Primus stoves can similarly burn LPG and liquid fuels. Handy if you are walking/climbing or travelling in areas where it is difficult to source your 'favourite' fuel.

You can check out the Kovea stoves at http://www.kovea.com/
