TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Does anyone else have good tent testing videos to share? ... Particularly for tents that frequently get a mention in these forums?

Jamet. (But as the Youtube comment says, the tent was old and had been cooked in the sun a lot.)

Conditions in the rest of those clips seem pretty moderate to me.

These conditions look a little more extreme. This video shows the Tera Nova and a Vaude Hogan

And still they survive...

I have been in winds stronger than that, but yeh that's pretty good wind for those tests.

Interesting...
If you look at the end of the Moment clip (around 37 sec...) you can see the Moment holding its shape better than the Power Lizard behind it...
BTW, I was doing some quick peg test yesterday, see separate post later on..
Oh, and do keep in mind that not all tents you see on You Tube are necessarily set up correctly...

I've seen some of those before.
IMO That first tent was left to be destroyed... Fancy letting the wind get under it and doing nothing... Sure it was rough, but there was no frantic effort to save it, more interested in filming it so they obviously weren't relying on it there for survival.
The conditions for the Nallo in the 2nd don't look too much worse than what I had on my LaPerouse walk last year. He was still able to walk about with a video camera without much drama, once he stops walking at 9 seconds it's quite steady until 15. They sure camped out in the open, didn't look like they had a lot of choice. I think I'd be contemplating the second set of poles for such conditions with the nallo though, the only one I saw destroyed was a test done by a large fan pushing on the side of the tent (or was that a Katium, can't remember).
