Tapatalk notifications

Postby Picaro » Wed 14 Aug, 2013 10:34 am

I pretty much rely on my notifications through Tapatalk. I'm using 4 now and for this site notifications are "disabled due to Tapatalk API in this forum is outdated".
Is this something that can be fixed ?

On the Mac, Tapatalk (free) is on v1.17.1 and paid version is on v2.1.1. What version of Tapatalk are you using? I am on 1.17.1 and have no connection problems with this site. You might also be seeing some random messages when this site has its somewhat regular hiccups. But check the version of your Tapatalk to be the latest first.
Just move it!

Its Version 4 for Android....theres no connection problem, just the notification feature. Version 3 worked fine, but with 4 this site apparently isn't updated or whatever.

Thanks Picaro
I think you are right - when I upgraded the API to have notification work required some significant code changes - so the upgrade may have stuffed that up.
I am still working on the server stability issue and looks like I need to migrate the website to another server. Once I have done that I will look into this API.

thanks

Matt :)

Thanks Matt,
I'll just keep an eye on everything the old fashioned way 'til you get to it. Cheers

Tapatalk notifications

Any updates on this issue? Been exchanging some PMs and noted again that the push notification functionality remains dysfunctional. Wondering. :)

PS. Something more annoying. After reading a PM, the app does not mark the message as being read with that green button remaining lit. Tried logging off and back on but no avail. Suspect it's a server side issue too.

Notifications haven't been working for me for a little while...
Seems like this has been an ongoing issue. Just got an email back from tapatalk thinking it was on their end.
Can this be resolved?

Tapatalk hasn't refreshed for me for weeks now. Not sure if others are having the same problem. Tapatalks response.

"The forum you are visiting has a very outdated Tapatalk plugin which is bound to cause problems at this point.
A notification email has been sent to the forum owner with a request to update the plugin.
A plugin update will most likely solve the problem for you."

They also mentioned later the email address they used to contact bushwalk.com bounced

Looks like Taptalk has now been refreshing for maybe the last week. Don't know what changed but it's working again :D

Thanks for the feedback.
Glad it is refreshing, I think we will still have problems until I do a pretty major upgrade. There are some issues with the API compatibility on this side (since an upgrade on their side).
I am struggling to get the time to get to the upgrade, but hopefully, we can tick on a bit longer.
