UPDATE
We lost both our ovens at the same time.
We were going to buy a F&P range but it has been DFR'd so as we were in a hurry to get our kitchen back we bought an Electrolux range with an induction top.
So far I am seriously impressed with how fast it is, I dare not look away when using the boost setting and browning meat.
I tested the power by seeing haw fast it brought water to the boil for cooking pasta, YEP much faster than our 1000W microwave, 5 litres to a rolling boil in 3 minutes and pasta cooks at a setting of 6 on the sliding scale.
Most of our pots and pans turn out to be unsuitable as the bases are very slightly warped for decades of use or are not magnetic steel so we went to the Geelong Nisbets store and we just spent a few hundred dollars on new commercial grade pots and pans
Heat pump hot water system next and very very soon, our gas consumption has never equaled the supply charge and the efficiency of the heat pumps should pay for itself in about 3 years, even if we aren't here the increase in selling price of the house may be worthwhile because I think it's now a seven star rating
Ve are too soon old und too late schmart
