What animal made this hole?

Found this today going for my usual walk. Its along a creek with a bit or remnant bush around it. The hole is 6 inch or 150mm wide and 8 inch or 200mm high. Its a perfect arch for as deep as one can see. The foot tracks leading up from the dark are at alternate spacing but very close together.

A dastly wabbit hey, that is a shame. Not surprising sadly. I didn't think anything native that might burrow would still exist around here.
