Round Mountain Hut

  • Round Mountain Hut is a 7m x 4.2m hut made from corrugated iron. It was originally built in the early 1930s, then rebuilt after fire in the 1940s. There is a fireplace, a bench for food preparation, some rustic bunk beds, and a nearby toilet. There is space for camping around the hut and a reliable creek nearby (treat before drinking). The flat open area in front of the hut also provides a great view across the valley to Mt Jagungal. Round Mountain Hut is maintained by a voluntary caretaker group under the Kosciuszko National Park Huts Conservation Strategy.
