The Thredbo River Picnic Area, as the name suggests, sits on the northern bank of the Thredbo River. The picnic area is just within the bounds of Kosciuszko National Park and is signposted on Kosciuszko Rd. There are well covered (and uncovered) BBQs and picnic tables, as well as a toilet block and open grassy area. There is a large car park and paved path linking the main facilities. Sitting at the lower end of Pallaibo Track, this is a popular spot for people walking, fishing and enjoying this gateway to the national park.
