Warrie circuit open

Postby icanfly » Mon 15 May, 2017 11:04 am

Hi

Looks like this track is open again? I know it was closed years ago but have seen comments elsewhere of people doing the track recently..

On the nat parks site doesn't say it's closed anymore.. Does anyone know would love to do this track.

Also when it comes to the section where it intersects with twin falls circuit, is it worth doing Blackfellow falls and then back tracking along Twin Falls base so I can do Canyon Lookout as I have never done it. Only ever done the Twin Falls walk to the base and back from Tallanbana so I would skip the last section of Warrie along the top of Twin Falls..

Thanks

It opened for business a couple of weeks ago, after they finished clearing the track of debris from Cyclone Debbie.
The Twin Falls circuit is enjoyable whether you walk clockwise or anti-clockwise
Mountain views are good for my soul...& getting to them is good for my waistline !

Overcast & cool, beautiful day to stretch the legs...
Bettongs & Brush Turkeys on the road in, birdsong & frog calls along the top of the cliffline, two Tree snakes, distinctive Wompoo Pigeon & Catbirds calls as I snaked my way down to the valley floor. Ripe fallen fruit on the track.

Waterfalls & feeder creeks need water...still an enjoyable rainforest walk while the off-track side trip to the Pinnacle, pops your head above the canopy for 360° views.

Zig zagging back up to the cliffline carpark will get your heart pumping.

No ticks, leeches or marchflies...

Sounds much like when I did it a couple of months ago. Lovely walk.

Did you encounter a very small slip on a narrow, 'grassy' section of path not far past the bridge going counter clockwise?

Last time I did the circuit was roughly 5years ago, when the streams & falls were pumping & the track was squelchy & muddy.

Meeting of the Waters was running low this time around but still had those lovely clear pools & cascades to have a bite to eat beside.

The small slip doesn't ring a bell, but it was an bleary eyed, early morning start @ 530am, so I could have overlooked it while taking in the scenery. Cheers coimon.

The point & shoot pics are alittle disappointing...but they'll give you a feel for the circuit & sidetrip.
