Went on my first bicycle tour today.. DId about 45 km in 6 hours on the way there including 3 in the dark and 40km in 5 hours the way back, if anyone needs a break from bushwalking/something to do when it is a bit warmer and you need a self made breeze I have to say that I quite enjoyed it. :D

Bonus is that you can use the majority of your hiking gear and stop at pubs :lol:

Did you use specific bikepacking packs (i.e. attached to your bike frame) or just throw your hiking pack on your back?

Nah I bought a touring bike a 2019 'trek 520' and some cheap panniers.. I used my 'hiking gear' for camping.

I have also looked into bikepacking for sure, keen to do the mawson trail, rock bros and roswheel do cheap gear to try it out to see if you like it and bike bag dude, apidura, ortlieb and wilderness threadworks do some high end stuff...
