Fungi in the Otways

Sat 23 Apr, 2016 12:28 pm

We spent a few days in the Otway Ranges but unfortunately there wasn't much water going over any of the waterfalls. There was a lot of fungi though and it made the trip worthwhile.

Amazing!

You might like to keep it a secret, as too many visitors will disturb a site, but are you able to say whereabouts this is? :)

The photos were taken at a couple of locations. Some of them were taken on the track to the first drop of Upper Chapple Falls (off Lavers Hill - Cobden Road). I won't mention the other location on here but will PM you with details.

Love the colour and shapes of fungi in the woods. Thanks for putting some colours in the forum.

Cheers GPS. It's amazing the fungi you can find when you actually look for them. A mate from Tassie (and a member of this forum) sent me some photos of green fungi he found last week. Stunning!!!
I will try to ID all of these but unfortunately my knowledge with fungi isn't great. I think the first one in the second lot of photos (the white one on the log) is White Brain -Tremella fuciformis.
