A great walk to Marriotts Falls... saw some very interesting things!

Those flowers are ferals. Some form of Foxglove (digitalis) I think.

Spot on NNW. They are Digitalis purpurea and are environmental weeds in Tasmania and Victoria.

They are pretty flowers nonetheless.

Common name is Stink Horn just Google it :)

I learned a lesson over the years in Australia : if you see a huge colorful flower, it's usually a weed... Aussie native flowers tend to be small and less conspicuous, appart from Hibiscus flowers and members of the Proteaceae. Digitalis are pretty common in France on hillsides. But they're mixed with all kinds of flowering plants, I haven't yet seen a whole field of those like on your photos. I hope it can be eliminated.
