Pico Duarte - Dominican Republic

Postby FreeHiker » Wed 02 Apr, 2014 8:16 am

The highest elevation in the entire Caribbean. It doesn't compare to some of the other places but man was it a tough hike. One of the guides told us that people use that mountain to train because it's very inclined almost the entire way.

Any one here ever done it?

Thanks for posting this story. It was a fun read.

I haven't climbed it, the furthest I got up the Antilles was Martinique.
Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful.
