Interesting article Wayno. Unfortunately places like Brod Bay that have fairly easy access always have problems with people doing the wrong thing with their rubbish, and I think the Kepler, because of the easy access from Te Anau, attracts people who would not otherwise consider a multi day walk. I came across a group of Europeans outside the DOC office who were about to set out on the Kepler wearing jeans and t-shirts, with the rest of their gear seeming to have come from the two dollar shop.
