I believe some of the Palante V2 offerings were in this very same (?) olive gridstop.

I think it’s definitely a move in the right direction. That fabric is excellent for the Australian bush.

It’s really great seeing Dan evolve his business. I’d like to see a framed pack on his site. I know he does them. I think they would sell well.

Yep, same fabric as Palante are using for the recent V2’s. Looks great as well.

WT pricing has gone up over recent months. Dan's products are in demand and rightfully so. They are UL and more importantly for Australian conditions, durable.
His new offering using 210D ripstop, is no heavier, probably has similar abrasive qualities and better ripstop than the previous version.
It's a more attractive pack as well and I'm curious about what is happening with the roll top. Is it just better presented in the photos or is there a design change?

I'm sure this is a step forward but looks more mainstream. I kind of liked the sharp, hard core look of the older version.

You're partly right it seems from a look at the pics. Text says it's still a roll top but a Y strap now. Increases the carrying possibilty on top for those that like to carry up there. The Y strap is snugging it down more so it looks more rounded on top. I believe it is still the 210D ripstop he was using before. The Sonder in that blue might tickle a few peoples fancy. I quite like it-spiffy.

You're right Lamont, he has replaced the single strap with a Y strap. Looks better and more functional.
My Sonder, that isn't old was made with a X-Pac Light Skin material which didn't absorb water and was waterproof. KS and others use the same fabric in some of there packs.

How did you find the liteskin? Ls07 or ls21?

I believe it was LS07 but not 100% sure. Would have done around 15 days, some bush bashing, rock scrambling and have got hooked up a couple of times crawling under fallen trees. No sign of wear, although my Sonder has some thicker material at the bottom outside of the pack. I wouldn't call it stiff by any means but better than a lot of other UL materials when getting things in and out of the pack. And doesn't appear to stretch at all. I'd give it the thumbs up, just got to like that chop strand laminated gray look.

I have a pack on order from the UK in a mix of VX21, LS21 but have seen neither in the flesh.

Once my bank account recovers I think I'll be getting one of the smaller Sonder packs for overnight trips, they look good.

I am about to bite the bullet on a sonder, very excited and Ill be going for the olive colour.. Looks beautiful.
