Hybrid tent poles

Combining steel uprights with fibreglass horizontals is common practice in family tents but has anybody here tried using FG with Easton wand sections? as per my idea in my winter tent rebuild post?
Note that I am only thinking about this as a way to keep the total cost down.
So these on the bottom

Then these in the middle

Plenty of the curved in stock but I need to find some money quickly as there are very few of the straight section pieces left and ANSCO will not be getting any more in
Ve are too soon old und too late schmart
