NW members only (only because of time)

Postby corvus » Sun 27 Jan, 2008 8:56 pm

An informative evening is being considered for NW members (its not exclusive ) to discuss Snakes with an expert and other BW subjects .
It you think this is appropriate please nominate a topic that you think may be suitable and if more than two turn up we will have at least a difference of opinion, :)

I think it sounds like a good idea. Do you want people to nominate any old bushwalking topic to discuss? If so, how about, given the attendees, walking on the N/W Coast?

As mentioned any topic that members nominated will be ok and if possible I would like to get an idustry type person i.e. GPS Sales Rep or anyone like that to partcipate as well as our Snake Man however it will take a wee bit of time to bring it all together if it is to go ahead.

Did you see in the Advocate the other day? The bit about snakes, and a very big Tiger snake caught in Ulverstone... Like about 20cm short of the longest recorded Tiger snake - and weighed over a kilo :!:
I think we should get him and make sure he brings that snake - they nicknamed it "Furry" because it only eats things that are furry. Therefore, as we humans are not furry, maybe we won't get bit.
Maybe I read it wrong, and it was "Fury"
Maybe I shouldn't believe all I read in the paper.

He is one of the Snake men I will be asking and I dont think Furry will be coming along as I believe she is pregnant and I suspect that she has been released back into the wild by now .

A GPS thing would be great - I am a novice with my geko and would really appreciate somebody that could help me with the software.

Listening to an expert talk about snakes would be interesting - as long as we did not have practical homework!
