Bushwalking Basics

Postby walkinTas » Fri 25 Jan, 2008 1:51 pm

This has elements form a number of existing threads.

Parks and WIldlife have some podcasts on their website. One of them is an introduction to bushwalking basics for the newbie bushwalker - and we've all been one at some time.

Unfortunately the flash file (link above) freezes right when they see the snake. Maybe the camera man got confused and went back to the previous topic - number ones in the bush.

Good to see that sort of info out there. Shame about the video dying at snake bit...I just treated it like audio only from there on. Still worth carrying on with.

Its available for download as WMV too....which is an annoying format but maybe it works better than the SWF. The data is there in the SWF...you can right click and forward through it and the guy keeps waving his arms...but some form of corruption halts the vid.

The WMV file plays fine. It can be grabbed from here for those too lazy to go to parks site.

Please note that the off-topic posts (ie, most of the posts) in this thread have been moved to a new topic, creatively titled "Eh?". Please note that the new "Eh?" topic does include a very small amount of useful information for playing the videos originally linked in this topic.
