Snow depth - Cascade Trail

Postby Ellobuddha » Fri 25 Jul, 2014 1:03 pm

Anyone been up there last week or so?

Looking to head up ealry tomorrow for some snowshoeing. Cascade trail seems to be preffered track if sufficient snow or Dead Horse is the other option.

Anyone been along either since the big dumps?

I have been pretty crook with flu and was still burning up overnight before leaving. Due to this i felt like crap and was exhausted - however it was excellent. One little bare patch down along the river (5 mtrs) Great clean snow up on Bobs Ridge. Was great just shooting off cross country. Plenty of brumbies as usual and deer sprinting across the open valley.

Two of us were going to camp but I got pretty crook. Had the chicken wing shivers going. Decided it was best to come home. Itching to kick this flu and get back up there. Didn't get over the back of Bobs Ridge as too crook

Shame you were crook... Looks lovely out there thanks for posting. May have to try and get down there. Last time I was there no snow but it started snowing and was great. Put the snow shoes on to try them but not really needed  lovely camping at the hut & waking up with a cover of snow :D
