Kanangra to Katoomba Video

Postby HitchHiking » Wed 09 May, 2012 12:38 pm

Hi Everyone,
Had a chance to do the classic route from Kanangra walls to Narrowneck recently. :D
It was a great trip with Huey on our side the entire way! There was, of course the standard crazy winds and some great chilly temps.
Other highlights include meeting the tiger snake just out of Dexs Creek. He was having a sun bake. We asked him if we could have a photo and then chatted about life on the High Gangerang before we pressed on.

Morilla Deck is magical.

I hope I was able to capture some of the fun and spirit. I mention in the description that I left out music so the wind gusts and sounds of the bush can be heard.
My highlights of the video are where my hat flys off in the wind at 1.32 (it goes left and I pursue) and the time lapse of setting up the hammock and tarp at 2.04.

I also did a write up on the blog hikingoz.com

Cheers,

Evan

Haha Yes it sure did. It was relentless for the firs day and half!

The gaiters are going well! Still a bit more tinkering to be done as I want them to be the best

Enjoyed the video. Great to see the Coxs running well. Looks like your first nights camp was at Dex Ck and your second near Splendour Rock?

Hi Evan,
Nice video. :D
We did it a few weeks ago as an overnight-er.
Luckily we didn't have the wind factor you did.
All ways a good trip!

Back at last. First time I've seen you since you went to Tassie. That must have been an awesome trip to keep you quiet this long.

Yeah I havent sat down and made a video in a while. I figured something like this trip needed a bit of footage. I have some good videos from Liloing this summer and a heap of other stuff that I have yet to get through. Of course there is days of footage from the last trip to Canada....

Yeah we floated the Coxs for about 350 meters as we slipped off the side of Strongleg into Kanangra Creek. First camp was at Dex's and the second was in one of the saddles at the top of Yellow Pub about 30 minutes to Mt Dingo.
