Fitzroy Falls West Rim

Postby mountnman » Wed 01 Dec, 2010 2:09 pm

Now, I know this isn't a proper bushwalk, just a stroll in the bush, but we've had a lot of rain in the last week, so I thought it would be good to show a few pictures.

I was going to walk the east rim (7km as opposed to 5km), but the track was closed for maintenance, so I walked the west rim instead.

As you can see by the pictures, it was still foggy and not many views of Yarrunga Valley to be had today.

(excuse the photo quality, only had the mobile on me)

It's great just being there when it's like that isn't it. No need to be ashamed of it being a small walk, I'm only a day man myself, doesn't stop you getting pictures! You certainly had lots more water than whenever I've been there.
If you want to elimate most of the mist; I use Microsoft Pro 10 and hit the "auto levels fix" button and it takes away a lot of the foggy stuff you don't want very quickly. The Fitzroy shots I've included show the difference.
I've included a couple of others as well.
Cheers, Ian

Brilliant pictures mountainman. Good to see the falls flowing again. They were a mere trickle last time I was there.

I'm envious. Waiting for the next drop of decent rain and I'll have to head off again. CHeers.
