Pindar Cave (hike 3 of 12 Hike challenge)

Postby solohiker » Wed 04 Apr, 2018 5:40 pm

For my third walk in my 12 Hike Challenge I chose Pindar Cave in Brisbane Waters National Park
Wildwalks says 6hours but I managed it in four. Definitely a place to camp one night with the kids though I’ve been warned of mice!
Well worth it. Lots of pictures and a full write up is on my blog.

Thanks for the report and photos. I like your 12 Hike Challenge idea.

I was supposed to overnight at Pindar Cave several years ago but I was really crook in the week leading up to the walk and had to cancel. I still haven't managed to get there yet.

Cheers,
Michael.

I’d been looking at it for a couple of years now. This years 12 Hike challenge has given me the reason to finally go and do it.
I’d actually like to head out there again after wet weather to see if the pool has filled. Quite a nice walk.
If you get the chance to go it is definitely worth your time. Just be aware of the steep climb at the beginning!

I visited Pindar cave several years ago. A great day walk and plenty of room for an overnight camp.

I’ve been there many times over the years, a nice walk. A good time to do it is end of August when the rock orchids are flowering above the cave. Definitely a 4 hour walk.
