With some fine weather forecast for last weekend I decided to head up to Pine Mountain and do a walk that I'd been contemplating for many years, Pine Mountain in the Burrowa-Pine Mountain National Park. With the walk such a long drive from my home in the south of Melbourne I developed a bit of a cunning plan, I decided that I'd spend the night bivvied on the summit, therefore spreading the trip over 2 days. Apart from having to lug 5 litres of water up to the summit the plan was a good one, the views as the sun came up over the Main Range and down to the Murray River made all the sweat and toil worth while. Yeah I normally do have a recovery kit in the back of the ute, but seeing that I'd be leaving the ute over night in the car park I took it out, Murphy's Law I suppose.
