Another NZ Mountaineering report

The first half of our trip at Kelman Hut was pretty much idential to what Dee did. Managed to summit Mt Aylmer and Hochstetter Dome but missed our attempt on Elie de Beaumont due to bad weather. We then headed further south to climb Mt Earnslaw. After a massive 12 hour day to reach Esquilant Hut we missed our early start the next day to climb the summit and had to turn back about halfway due to poor conditions.
Heres a couple of my better shots. The rest can be found here http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150562679164884.437483.695894883&type=1

Now theres some awesome shots! Did you attend the alpine club camp?

We were based a few clicks away at Tasman saddle hut by ourselves and also aimed for Elie de Beaumont but the 3 weeks of hot weather prior caused all the crevasses to be too chopped up. Going by the log book at our hut, seemed like every other party this season didnt managed to summit either.

Then aiming for Mt Tasman, but all last week the weather was pretty much below average. Over the weekend there was a 60cm dump of snow! Just got to hope for conditions to freeze the snow up but its unlikely to happen any time soon so maybe Mt Tasman will have to wait another year.

Such beautiful photos! photography skills totally above my league. we also had a crack at Ellie and Mt Green (unsuccessfully) and my poor POV camera malfunctioned hence no footage :(
The videos were shot in HD but i was only using a trial version of an editing program that only allowed low resolution.

Hopefully you'll notice some familiar scenes.
