It’s funny how you can visit an area many times and not do the same trip twice. I’ve recently completed the above circuit for the first time: four lakes with a mountain (Rogoona) thrown in.
We had weather that fitted roughly with the lake to mountain ratio. In other words it was a wet trip , but with a glorious blue-bird day for going up Rogoona ... and isn’t that the way you’d want it
As it turned out the wet weather worked fine, as we were able to use Junction and Meston huts to full advantage. There were no real navigational issues, although the route from Chapter Lake via Cloister Lagoon to Junction Lake was sketchy in places. I’ve included a few pix of the trip here, and I’m in the process of writing up the trip on my blog, starting here http://www.naturescribe.com/2015/04/four-lakes-and-mountain-part-1.html and then http://www.naturescribe.com/2015/04/four-lakes-and-mountain-part-2.html (with more to come).
cheers
Peter
