Dan Corvus and Lophophaps, thanks all for the excellent advice. I have looked at Google earth to familiarise myself with the terrain and then back at the maps. I think point to point navigation is the go. I think also getting experience in different conditions is important. I hear that you can get really thick fog over the Lake Mckenzie area. So minimum viz would be something to do one day.
Dan I am going to take you up on the offer for a walk.
