Supplier for NT topographic maps

Sun 12 May, 2013 3:01 pm

I'm looking for a supplier of topo maps (1:50000 series or even 1:25000 if they exist) ) of the Northern Territory, if anyone can advise.

While I've picked up a few of these maps over recent years at the General Store, I'd like to obtain a few more before my next trip which will be next month. I noticed last time I was there that some of the 1:50000 series werent available. Is there a good map supplierin the NT who will do mail order ?

Steve

Best supplier seems to be Cartodraft - good website, online ordering etc . I've actually used them before for NT 50K maps but forgot their name and couldn't find the webpage easily this time round.

You can order your maps.

Fremantle map shop:
http://www.chartandmapshop.com.au/maps
I ordered by phone twice. No worries. And they paid the postage. 10 aud per map ( 1/100.000 and 1/250.000 )

Melbourne:

I always went to the shop. It was much easier when they were in the city!
So i do not know about their internet.

I tried to order with Geoscience but i did not get anywhere:

here is the map directory:

Does anyone know if there are any NT maps that are 1:25,000 or 1:30,000 or is 1:50,000 the best I am going to be able to get?

I would prefer printed but I can't even seem to find pdf maps better than 1:50,000

It's "big terrain" country and 1:50,000 is usually adequate. If you want more detail, consider getting aerial photos.

Yeah I am wanting to do some route mapping and I can only get 1:100,000 for the area i'm looking at... aerial photos/small scouting trips will be the way to go.
