Kroombit Tops

Postby BigAlu436 » Sun 15 May, 2016 1:08 pm

I recently went out to Kroombit Tops National Park. I have only just joined this forum, I thought you may like to see some pics of this rare and only recently discovered site.

Beautiful Betsy, a long nosed B24 Liberator crashed in 1945, however, wasn't discovered until the mid 1990's when firefighters discovered the remains. A plaque now sits in situ.

The drive out to the National Park is beautiful. Getting to the wreck can be tricky, its a single lane down some steep terrain in what is a heavily washed out track. Suggest walking the final stages, albeit, it is possible to drive to the carpark adjacent to the site.
