I am looking for an online map showing the extent of bushfires in Victoria in the Alps region in 2019. I need the map to plan a walk and I want to see what areas have been damaged. Images like the one below can be Googled but probably don't show the full extent of damaged forest. Does anyone know if one exists?

For the map you posted, the black bits represent the areas burnt and are drawn from aerial, on ground and remote sensing of fire activity. They are as accurate a representation of the actual burnt areas as you will get. The other areas (orange, yellow etc.) show where warnings and information updates were sent.

Within the burnt areas there will be various levels of fire activity (and 'damage') depending on a swag of factors - did the fire pass through in the cool of night or was it the middle of a hot afternoon, how much wind was there pushing it , was it running uphill or crawling down; northern slopes tend to be drier (get more sun) and burn hotter than southern slopes ... and so much more.

The only tracks that are still closed due to fire damage are around Tali Karng.

You'll find what you're looking for (and a lot more) at MapShare.maps.vic.gov.au (it replaced ForestExplorer a while ago)

MapShare.maps.vic.gov.au is great but doesn't show 2019 fires
