Water on the Grampians Peak Trail

Postby sa_cooke » Sun 31 Dec, 2017 6:32 pm

Hi All,

Taswegian and partner on a road trip along the Great Ocean Road to SA and back to Melbourne via the Grampians in mid-January. We thought we would walk the Grampians Peak Trail and we're after some advice please. Water. Is there reliable water available on the Grampians Peak Trail please? If not, what is the usual method - carry water in?

There's a shop in halls gap, Absolute Outdoors, that will do water drops at a cost. Both camps have good car access, so you can do your own drops if you like. There is water at both camps, tank at bugiga and creek water at borough huts but I found it impossible to get any info on levels from Brambuk, the info centre, before walking.
